Terrie H.

Director of Bethany Early Learning Ministry

My name is Terrie and I am so excited to be the Director of Bethany Early Learning Ministry! I have been in Early Childhood Education for over 30 years.

Terrie is so excited and blessed to be the Director of Bethany Early Learning Ministry! She has been in Early Childhood Education for 34 years!  She has been a home provider, Infant/Toddler Director and spent 19 years as the Regional Director of 3 family owned childcare centers for children ages 2-12 years.  She has been the Director at BELM for nearly 5 years.

Terrie’s passion is working with children and to provide the best educational experience, to guarantee a successful start in Kindergarten.  Building relationships with families and staff has always been her top priorities. Terrie loves planning family involvement activities and creating ways to bring staff and families together. Some of these activities have been an Annual Family Dance in February, Muffins with Moms, Donuts with Dads, Multi-Cultural Celebration and an annual family picnic are just to name a few of the fun events!

Terrie has moved all over, but has lived most of her life in Greenwood, Indiana. She graduated from Center Grove High School and earned her Bachelors Degree in Public Health Education/Family Life Education from Indiana University (Bloomington).  Terrie is married to Chris and have 3 grown children, married and living within a 2 mile radius of them!  She is blessed with 5 beautiful grandchildren, under the age of 3 years old, they keep her youthful and very busy!  She also has 2 fur babies, Ruby and Ivy. 

Terrie attends Saint Francis and Clare Catholic Church. She loves to travel, loves  Cleveland Browns football, Indiana University football and basketball!  She enjoys entertaining and spending as much time as possible with family and friends!

Paquita B.

Assistant Director

Paquita B. is Assistant director of Bethany Early Learning Ministry. She has over 25 years’ experience working with children.

Paquita M. Brown is Assistant director of Bethany Early Childhood Ministry. She has over 29 years experience working with children in various positions including: children church teacher, Kindergarten, and second and third grade teacher and Pre- Kindergarten teacher at Joy Tabernacle Christian Academy. She was awarded their Teacher of the Year in 2003.

Beginning in 2010, Paquita worked as Pre-Kindergarten lead teacher at KinderCare Learning Center for six years, where she also trained and motivated co-workers. In May 2011, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Martin University. Ms. Paquita has been with BELM for 5 years.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at eighteen years of age. She has been a member of Harvest Prayer Center for twenty-four years. The ministries Paquita exercises are: intercessory prayer, armor bearer and liturgical dance.

Paquita is the mother of four sons and grandmother of five. About her ministry at Bethany, Paquita says,

“I have a passion working with children we are shaping, molding, and setting a foundation for the next generation.”

Gladys C.

Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Gladys is a CDA certified, Pre-K Teacher. Ms. Gladys has been working in Early Childhood Education for 12 years. She has been employed with BELM since April 4, 20ll!

Ms. Gladys became an educator because as a young child she always wanted to Teach. Her goal is to give the best care she can to the Infants and Toddlers and to ensure our Preschoolers and Pre-Kindergartners are socially, emotionally and physically ready for Kindergarten. Ms. Glady is committed to reassuring all parents/guardians that their children is in a safe and loving environment.

Ms. Gladys is a mother of 5 grown children, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, researching history, astrology and how the brain works.

Penny B.

“Children are my Passion”

Ms. Penny attended and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1985. She attended and graduated with a degree in Medical/Dental Administration in 1987. She then attended classes and received her CDA in 2010. Ms. Penny attended and graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associates in early Education in 2015.

Ms. Penny has worked for Bethany Early Learning Ministry for 12 years, she began her journey here in September of 2008. She has taught children in every area of this daycare. Before working at Bethany Early Learning Ministry, she worked for St. Vincent as an Autistic Skills Trainer for 3 years. She has also owned and operated a personal in house daycare for many years while my children were small.

Ms. Penny is a mother of 6, mother-in-law of 4, grandmother of 11. She loves to take pictures, scrapbook, do extreme crafts and spend time with her family. She owns 2 dogs, a Bull Mastiff named Cairo and a Brussels Griffon named Chewy. She has lived on the South side of Indianapolis for over 40 years.

Preschool Teacher

Ms. Dee is the Preschool Teacher, she loves working with the 3 year olds! Ms. Dee finds it so exciting working with young little minds.

Ms. Dee is a native of Indianapolis, born and raised! She graduated from North West High School, she has her CDA in Early Childhood Education. She has been a Preschool Teacher for 9 years! Ms. Dee has been employed with BELM for two years!  She loves every minute of teaching, her favorites are reading to the children and science (allowing the children to explore).  Ms. Dee chose this career because she has a passion for children and helping them learn.

Ms. Dee has a wonderful and amazing 7 year old son, he has been such a blessing to her and he has been her strength and pride!

When Ms. Dee is not teaching or planning awesome lesson plans, she enjoys listening to music, baking, funny comedy shows, shopping, traveling, restaurants (Longhorn/Applebees), spending time with family, and her favorite color is pink/blue!

Kat H.

Floater

Learn More About Ms. Kat

Ms. Kat can be found in any of our classrooms, as she is our floater! Ms. Kat has been working in Early Childhood Education for five years, she however, has been working with children since she was 13. She would volunteer in her Church’s nursery and other classes. She would also tutor neighborhood children in elementary school. She was also the neighborhood babysitter.

Ms. Kat has her CDA credential and she is currently working on her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and she is hoping to graduate in December 2021!  Ms. Kat plans to further her education to get her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education. At some point she wants to be an Inclusion Specialist and help children in need. She chose this career because she wants to make a difference in young children’s lives. She wants to make learning fun and exciting. Most importantly she wants to make each child feel loved, cared for and accepted for who they are!

Ms. Kat is a mother of 2 beautiful boys. She is engaged to her wonderful fiance’ whom she has been with for 8 years.  Her hobbies are writing and playing the keyboard and playing with her babies!

Christie B.

Ms. Christie was born and raised on the Eastside of Indianapolis and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1992. She has lived in Greenville, SC for 5 years and returned back home to family in 2019.  She currently resides in Decatur Township with here daughter and adopted daughter. She has two sons, one in South Carolina and the other in Plainfield.

Ms. Christie has worked in Early Childhood Education since 1994 and received her CDA in 2010.  She has worked with all ages, birth-school-age.

Ms. Christie is blessed to work for BELM and she prides herself in providing the children the best start at their education. She is here to help your child grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.

Ms. Tameka is the Kitchen Coordinator at Bethany Early Learning Ministry! Ms. Tameka has been working here at BELM since October of 2017! Ms. Tameka finds it a pleasure to work with each and every child that has walked through Bethany!

She not only gets the fun task of preparing and serving healthy meals for the children, she also gets to assist in the classroom from time to time!

Ms. Tameka is the proud of mother of 3 sons, 3 daughters, 3 granddaughters and one grandson!  Ms. Tameka loves making people smile and she gets to do that everyday just by spending time with her family. It is a joy for her to see all the children laughing, playing and just being happy here at Bethany!

Sasha N.

Two Year Old Teacher

Learn More About Ms. Sasha

Ms. Sasha is the Teacher in the two- year- old classroom. She has been working in Early Childhood Education for several years and absolutely loves working with children and they love her! Ms. Sasha has been working at BELM for a little over 2 years and is currently working towards her CDA. 

She just received a scholarship for the Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement as part of the Infancy Onward Endorsement supported by Early Learning Indiana. Ms. Sasha will use this scholarship as an immense benefit to young children and families. 

Providers of both Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention Services will be knowledgeable about mental health supports and services available, as well as the signs displayed by young children in need of such services. In addition, providers will learn the importance of self-care and reflection in order to protect their own mental health and well-being.  We are really proud of her for receiving this Scholarship!

Ms. Sasha is a mother of her wonderful son, Tristen. She loves to cook and spending time with her family and friends!

Sabrina P.

One Year Old Teacher

Ms. Sabrina is the Teacher in the one- year- old classroom. She has been working in Early Childhood Education for 6 years and absolutely loves working with children!  Ms. Sabrina has 2 beautiful daughters that attend BELM and she gets the privilege of watching them learn and grow!

Ms. Sabrina has been working at BELM for nearly 2 years, she is in the process of getting her CDA. She attended Ivy Tech Community College for 2 years to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education. She hopes with many positive vibe as and much motivation she will return to achieve her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Child Education in the very near future! 

Ms. Sabrina’s teaching philosophy is to allow children to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes, it is a process. She believes it may take several attempts to do a specific task but the lesson learned is to never give up.  My mission is to never lose sight of the importance of an educator and the children. 

Ms. Sabrina is creative and very artistic, she loves to draw! Her favorite color is purple and she loves to watch documentaries.  She is the happiest when her daughters are smiling! Her life goal is to be the best mother and educator!  Ms. Sabrina loves music and spending time with friends and family.
