Pre-Kindergarten Program
(4 TO 5 YEAR OLDS)
Pre-Kindergarteners are getting ready for that big day when they would go to Kindergarten. Our curriculum is designed to get children ready by teaching letters, words, math concepts, and social skills.
The day of a Preschooler
Open – 9 a.m
Arrival and breakfast
Children participate in individual activities or small group activities and eat breakfast.
9 a.m – 9:25 a.m
Group time
Teachers bring the group together for morning circle time calendar, sharing, literacy building, discussion, and featured activities for the day.
9:25 a.m – 10:45 a.m
Learning centers and small group activities
Children will participate in math, science, art, music, writing, reading, and sensory learning centers. The focus is on skill building and observation.
10:45 a.m – 11:30 a.m
Group Time
Children come together to finish activities from the morning or do puppet/reading activities.
11:30 a.m – 12:00 p.m
Lunch
Children wash hands and help prepare for lunch.
12:00 p.m – 12:15 a.m
Group Time
Teacher reads aloud as children settle down for rest.
12:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Rest time and quiet work time
Most children nap or rest quietly as the children wake up they participate in quiet work (puzzles, books, writing, or teacher assisted one on one time).
2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Learning centers
Children choose from a variety of centers to work at.
3:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Snack
3:15 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Clean up time (snack)
3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Gym or outdoor play time
If weather permitting, children choose from a variety of fitness activities.
4:15 p.m – Dismissal
Children work in learning centers as individuals or in small groups, clean up.

- Gaining large muscle development through obstacle courses, riding bikes, and throwing balls.

- Asking and answering open-ended questions.
- Understanding a sequence of events.
